How to calculate fuel cost

Divide your distance in miles by your MPG to get gallons needed, convert to litres (1 UK gallon = 4.546 litres), then multiply by the fuel price per litre.

Example: 200 miles at 40 MPG with fuel at 145p/litre = 200 ÷ 40 × 4.546 × 1.459 = £33.16.
